The Catalyst Board is pleased to announce that Katrina Bassett has accepted the position of General Manager, Auckland.
Katrina has been at Catalyst for over 10 years and is one of our leading and most experienced technologists. This appointment emphasises our strong commitment to technology leadership, within the company and beyond.
Katrina has more than 15 years experience in software development, largely focused on web application development and J2EE technologies.
Until her move to Auckland late last year, she was responsible for the Java Development Team, where she oversaw the architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, and support and maintenance work done by a team of fifteen developers.
Over the period she led that team, they became our most profitable business unit, servicing some of our biggest clients.
Katrina has also led the system design and architecture work for several large complex projects, for both private and public sector clients, and provided strong technical leadership for those projects.
“Catalyst is thrilled to have our Auckland branch being led by such a talented technologist. Katrina has demonstrated time and time again advanced technical ability, excellent relationship skills and and enduring commitment to free and open source software that makes her a natural leader in Catalyst's global operations,” said Don Christie, Catalyst Director.
