Catalyst, maintainer of the Mahara project, is pleased to announce the latest version of the open source ePortfolio system. In Version 15.10, released in Mahara's ninth year, the existing CSS and HTML have been replaced with the Bootstrap framework, which is used by many other popular web applications.
The Catalyst front-end team had the main responsibility for the conversion, the biggest change in Mahara for this release. A former Catalyst Open Source Academy student became an intern at Catalyst during this release cycle and used his front-end skills to support the team. Now all themes are responsive, icons can be chosen easily and a wide range of additional Bootstrap functionalities are available to designers. Our design team created brand new themes that already have community members talking.
Contributions for this release came from Australia, Canada, Germany, New Zealand, Taiwan, the UK, and the USA. Also, a number of Catalyst clients supported the development of new features and bug fixes:
- FernUniversität in Hagen
- iCampus 21
- Kwantlen Polytechnic University
- New Zealand Ministry of Education
- Pace University
- Pratt Institute
