On Wednesday the 27th of November, Catalyst raised over $400 by hosting a sustainability market.
We’ve all been gifted something that we have greeted with a false smile and ”thanks” – knowing this would forever sit in our cupboard in its brand-new tags-on condition. Catalyst wanted to do something about those neglected presents and hosted its first sustainability swap-meet style market.
The market tables displayed clothing, new appliances, art, plants, toys, books, homewares, homemade jam and more.
No money exchanged hands for goods; instead, a koha jar sat at the door, collecting money for Women’s Refuge.
As well as donating to a worthy cause, this market helped to prevent waste and promoted sustainable behaviours. Could you do the same in your workplace?
