Our year in review

2016 has been another very busy year for Catalyst.

From our offices in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom we’ve helped all sorts of clients to achieve the best in the digital space.

We’ve built beautiful new websites for Taranaki Regional Council, Allied Press, and Te Papa. Helped DIA launch their innovative new online service, and worked with several New Zealand government clients.

The eLearning team implemented Moodle and Totara learning management systems for universities, government departments and businesses. They also implemented Mahara ePortfolio systems for several universities and celebrated Mahara’s 10th anniversary.

The Catalyst Cloud now has improved object storage and uses Open Compute hardware. We’ve also added Windows licenses and achieved PCI-DSS certification for the Porirua Data Centre. The Cloud team were delighted to be recognised with an Open Source Award for their work.

Our Electoral Management system has been redeveloped and used to manage the Mt Roskill by-Election.

We’ve achieved ICA Agile certification and put 73 people through our foundation Agile training. We’ve also expanded our training departments in Christchurch, Auckland and Australia, people outside Wellington have access to our suite of courses, too.

Finally, we’ve ushered students through our Open Source and Arduino academies, taken on interns and awarded our first ever Open Source scholarships.

This year we’ve worked with some amazing organisations. There’s been lots of laughs, plenty of great ideas and a few late nights. Despite everything we’ve achieved, we’ve still got plenty of energy for 2017.

Best wishes to our staff and clients for the holidays, and we look forward to new challenges ahead.
